The Marlins visited the Braves today and the game ended up being a tie. The score was 4-4 in 11 innings. Nothing spectacular, just an average spring training game. Speaking of spring, I was rather irritated to see 6 inches of snow fall on the ground today. It is a rather depressing sight, and when you have a job that involves working outside as well, it brings my mood down another notch. I think I declare March my most hated month.
- Tim Hudson pitched six innings giving up four hits and a run. He had two walks but struck out four batters. Hudson has a 1.35 ERA for the spring.
- George Sherrill is pretty ugly this spring. Now, I assume he's not being used as a left handed specialist this spring like he will be during the season. Let's just take this as a stretch out session. Four hits, three runs, one walk in an inning of work. He has three blow saves now this spring.
- I have to mention Venters yet again. He pitched another scoreless inning with two strikeouts.
- Kimbrel has been lights out for a while as well. A scoreless inning with one strikeout for the new closer.
- Nate McLouth had a little cold streak, but he picked it up again going 2-5 with an RBI and a run.
- Chipper Jones hit a double for an RBI.
- Rookie Freddie Freeman smacked a home run in this game.
* Jair Jurrjens will make the start tomorrow vs. the Toronto Blue Jays.
